CourtAPI MCP Connector — Terms of Use

Effective September 18, 2026. Provided by Inforuptcy, LLC, 4500 Park Granada Blvd, Suite 202, Calabasas, CA 91302.

These terms govern your use of the CourtAPI connector for AI assistants (Claude, ChatGPT, and other MCP clients). They supplement the CourtAPI Terms and Conditions of Service and the Inforuptcy Terms and Conditions, which continue to apply; if this page conflicts with them on a connector-specific point, this page controls. By connecting the connector you agree to these terms.

The service

The connector lets your AI assistant retrieve US federal court data through CourtAPI — cases, dockets, claims, parties, creditors, and documents — across district, bankruptcy, and appellate courts. It provides factual court-record access and research support. It does not provide legal advice, and nothing it returns is a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.

Account and credentials

You need a CourtAPI account to use the connector. You are responsible for keeping your login and any PACER credentials confidential and for activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate registration information. PACER credentials are set on a secure CourtAPI web page, never in chat.

PACER and fees

Live PACER retrievals access PACER directly and may incur standard PACER access fees billed to your account, in addition to your CourtAPI plan fees. Usage and any fees are visible in your CourtAPI account dashboard. Your use of PACER is also subject to the PACER and ECF access policy and to PACER's own terms.

Acceptable use

Use the connector only for lawful purposes and in line with the AI platform's policies. Do not use it for automated legal decisions, court filing, or other actions with legal consequences without review by a qualified person. Do not attempt to resell, reverse engineer, or misuse the service, and do not submit Social Security numbers or Tax IDs through the public connector.

Disclaimers

The connector and all data are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that court data is complete or current.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Inforuptcy, LLC's total liability arising from your use of the connector will not exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000.00), and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access at any time for any reason, including violation of these terms. Fees already incurred remain payable.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
